Who We Are

Edenish Acres is a family farm and homestead in rural South Carolina, built around a simple idea: the things we learn by doing are worth cultivating, preserving, and sharing.

What began as a return to a more intentional way of living has grown into something broader. Today, Edenish Acres is the home of our homestead, Guardians of Eden, and Edenish Acres Publishing—three expressions of the same commitment to thoughtful stewardship, practical experience, and doing things with purpose.

From the animals we raise and the food we grow to the dogs we develop and the resources we publish, our work begins here, with the life we actually live.

Life at Edenish Acres

The farm is where Edenish Acres began, and it remains the foundation beneath everything else we do. Our days are shaped by animals, gardens, seasonal work, projects that rarely go exactly as planned, and the constant process of learning what works through experience.

Gardening, seeds, livestock, recipes, tools, and homestead life are still very much part of Edenish Acres. They are not separate from the businesses that grew here; they are the environment that shaped them. Much of what we share through our articles, resources, and publishing work begins with something we have needed to learn, solve, build, grow, raise, or improve ourselves.

What Has Grown Here

  • Guardians of Eden

    Our guardian-breed program grew from our experience living and working with powerful, intelligent dogs and our belief that responsible breeding requires more than producing puppies. Guardians of Eden focuses on health, temperament, structure, intentional development, and thoughtful placement. Through our Find Your Guardian process, we work to understand both the puppy and the family so that placement is built around fit rather than simply color or gender.

    Publishing grew from another recurring experience: we were continually creating the resources we wished had existed when we needed them. Edenish Acres Publishing turns that practical experience into books, workbooks, planners, and educational resources designed to help others approach dogs, homesteading, and everyday challenges with better information and greater confidence.

Meet the Founders

Edenish Acres began in 2020, when Heather and Paul Angelo found themselves reconsidering what they wanted everyday life to look like for their family. What started as a desire to live more intentionally—to become more self-reliant, better understand where their food came from, and build a life grounded in faith, stewardship, and meaningful work—gradually became the homestead Edenish Acres is today.

As the farm grew, so did the knowledge and experience that came with it. Raising animals, growing food, solving problems, and learning new skills became part of everyday life. Our work with guardian breeds eventually grew into Guardians of Eden, while the guides and resources we developed from our own experience became the foundation for Edenish Acres Publishing.

We didn't begin Edenish Acres with a plan to build several distinct parts of a business. Each one grew naturally from the life we were already living and the things we cared enough about to do well.

Today, those pieces remain connected by the same principles that brought us here in the first place: live intentionally, learn through experience, be thoughtful stewards of what we've been given, and share what we've learned when it can help someone else.
